UNIQUE VENUE The private panelled rooms in St Martin’s Lane were the Judges’ Court and Barrister Chambers, dating back to 1908, and when it was a civil court it had jurisdiction to hear debt cases and sentence defendants to debtors’ prison. The cell door, still located in the Judges’ Court, has access down to the detention cells, leaving a reminder of its former purpose! The original judge's bench and press boxes remain in place.
